My first 'racer', we got Monty from Ireland when he was just twenty months old, he had good early and after he was a bit 'naughty' we sent him to Bellevue to race over hurdles.  We travelled down to Bellevue to see his first hurdle race and it is still one of my best moments in racing.  He won and it was a trophy race, his tail was wagging like crazy when he was on the podium and the journey home definately didn't seem like 3 hours.  He went on to win another couple of graded races then an open hurdle race.  He got warned off and came home to live with my father.  As a retired Monty is a good natured boy and very loyal.
